Lake Application to Begin

The apllication of the approved hebicide for controlling weed growth in the lake will begin on June 27th. Please keep all your animals and swimming activities out from the lake between 6:00 am on the 27th to 6:00 am on June 28th.

All motor craft should not be used between 6:00 am on the 27th (Wednesday) to 10:00 pm in the evening to give enough time for the applicator to complete his application process.

After the application for the weed control is complete the lake will than be available to be raised. The time it will take to fill up will again be based on the weather.

Please note that this is a two part application and the lake will need to be lowered and raised again after the July 4th holiday. FLPOA will let you know when the next application will uccur.

Thanks again for your patience. See you all at the July 4th boat parade.

Fairview Lake annual Box Social has been re-scheduled for is Saturday June 30 at 6:00 at the mid-lake float social. Hope you can all make it.

All you need to do is decorate a box or bag any way you’d like…be creative! Include food and beverage for one person in the box. The dinner can be sandwiches, wraps, main dish salads or casseroles. The box can include sides and a dessert too. The dinner can be homemade or commercially prepared. It can be thematic or not. There aren‘t any rules, so be imaginative and have fun! If this is not your thing come anyway and join the mid-lake social as usual.

Lowering of the Lake

Alert! Alert!
Fairview lake will begin to lowered Monday(06/18/12). The lake will be lowered about 4″ a day to about a total of 18″ to allow treatment for weed control. Weed control should start about June 24th if weather permits.
After treatment the lake will than begin to be filled again the same day.
All lake activity is OK as the lake is lowered and until the treatment begins. When treatment begins we will have another pony express delivery providing further instruction what to do on the day of treatment. Please remember to provide slack in the mooring ropes for boats tied to a fixed dock. Also any boats that have a prop under the kell (I.e. Battery powered boats) make sure you have room underneath as the lake drops. Please contact your FLPOA board member or Jim Graybill for any questions.
I personnelly have added a few more bumpers on my pontoon boat at differant levels to help with the issue of the lake lowering as well as loosened up my mooring ropes.

Thanks again from your local volunteer FLPOA member Anthony DeSimone
